Thanks to Youth began in May,1987 as a way to honor the “unsung heroes” among the youth in our community. These youth were not necessarily student scholars or athletes, but just ordinary students doing extraordinary things in their schools, churches and for families. Since its inception Thanks to Youth has given awards to over 500 scholarships and unsung hero recipients.
This year we’ll be awarding 6 Unsung Heroes with a $200 shopping spree each at Target plus a $500 grant for a favorite project at their school, for a total of $4,200.
Our scholarship focus this year, is to support students working towards vocational and technical careers rather than a 4-year college degree. We will also be awarding $2000 scholarships to each of five high school seniors for a total of $10,000. These five were selected from over 25 applications!

Now, more than ever, our kids need a helping hand. Will you help us bring scholarships and awards to deserving local kids by sponsoring? We have several sponsorship opportunities to choose from, all of which will give your business value and at the same time allow your business to honor our local youth. In keeping with our education theme, our sponsorship levels are:

Each sponsorship receives a table for 8 at our Thanks to Youth luncheon, recognition at the luncheon, in all printed materials, on our website and on social media.
