Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. Through scholarships, educational programs, and community support, Soroptimist International of Truckee Meadows empowers women and girls to pursue education, overcome barriers, and create brighter futures.
Chartered 1978, SI of Truckee Meadows has been working in northern Nevada to help people – mostly women and girls – help themselves move toward a better life. In 2025-26, SITM donated $110,711 to community and Soroptimist projects and provided 6,326 volunteer hours raising funds and supporting community projects,
We meet weekly on Thursdays at noon at the Atlantis Casino, Resort Spa in Reno and a Zoom link is available for all meetings.
How to join SITM
- Attend at least two program meetings and one business meeting.
- Have a sponsor – please email [email protected] and you will be contacted right away
- Pay Annual Dues
Once you’re a member you will:
- Attend weekly lunch programs as often as you can, either in person or by Zoom
- Actively participate on at least one program committee and one additional committee. Here’s a List of Committees
