Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. SITM engages in projects in our community, our region and around the world in support of this objective.
Chartered 1978, SI of Truckee Meadows has been working in northern Nevada to help people – mostly women and girls – help themselves move toward a better life. In 2021-22, SITM donated $115,511 to community and Soroptimist projects, and provided 1,365 volunteer hours raising funds and supporting community projects
We meet weekly on Thursdays at noon at the Atlantis Casino, Resort Spa in Reno and a Zoom link is available for all meetings.
How to join SITM
- Attend at least two program meetings and one business meeting.
- Have a sponsor – please email info@sitmnv.org and you will be contacted right away
- Pay Annual Dues
Once you’re a member you will:
- Attend weekly lunch programs as often as you can, either in person or by Zoom
- Actively participate on at least one program committee and one additional committee. Here’s a List of Committees
